Not quite back
The other day I decided to write a short story. I got the idea from a conversation with Peter. He has been a great confidant in troubled times. While discussing my ever-present problem of wanting something different he repeated, once again, his assertion that it is not a bad thing that I am dissatisfied with how things are going. He said “You will find something that will allow constant change in your life. So it isn’t that you need a different job, or different friends, or whatever, it is that you will find a job, or friends that will allow for constant flux.” To which I responded “I wonder if mother nature is hiring for chameleons.” That was where I wanted to take the story of Charles - but it ended up not going there. It was written poorly and I barely revised the thing but it makes me laugh. So there it is.
